Skiers – One critical piece of equipment I failed to mention, sunglasses or ski goggles.
Goggles are really required, unless it is snowing while you ski; but sunglasses are required on a sunny day.
Let me know if you need help acquiring one or the other.  J Helton

Red River Skiers – Here are a few things to be thinking about . . .

1.  Ski gear.  There are two essential, 1) pretty good ski glove, 2) ski pants.
If this is your first time to ski, this is what you need to find.  Good idea to borrow this gear if you are not sure how much you will enjoy.  After you fall in love with it, then you get some good gear.  Goodwill usually has some good slightly used ski pants.  Start looking for both, let me know if you need help.  Good gloves are worth their weight in GOLD!!
You don’t need a ski coat.  A water resistant jacket, with lots of layers underneath work great.
It is Christmas, not a bad time to by some ski gear.

2.  Conditioning.  I encourage everyone who is going to be stretching your back and legs.  The more limber you are, the less likely you are to get hurt; and the more fun you will have.
Work those legs . . .  sit on the wall, do some squats, jogging is always a great idea.  New skiers will be getting up and down, it takes energy – Be Prepared.  You “older” skiers, all the more important for you to be conditioning for the next 6 weeks!!

Questions? . . . let me know.  J Helton
