Troop 363 will be hosting a mandatory parent meeting next Tuesday, October 12 at 7:00 p.m. If your Scout is a member of Troop 363, attends meetings, participates in camp outs, receives merit badges and/or advancement rank patches, your attendance is requested/required. I truly understand we are all busy, however, this meeting is critical to the health of Troop 363.
As you know, Troop 363 is known as a "scout led troop" because our adult leaders have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to place this responsibility on our Senior Patrol Leaders, Assistant Patrol Leaders and Scouts. If not for its dedicated leaders, Troop 363 would not attract new Scouts and keep its existing Scouts. While we are excited for new growth, the responsibility placed on the few adult leaders is enormous. To put it mildly, 10-12 adult leaders cannot sustain weekly meetings, monthly campouts, summer/winter camps, popcorn sales, Boards of Review, Courts of Honor, service hour opportunities, Eagle Rank advancement and Philmont treks for over 40 Scouts.
Listed below are the items that will be discussed next week:
Two Deep Leadership
Popcorn Sales
Board of Review volunteers
Campout/Backpack volunteers
Service Hour volunteers
Recharter Fees/Troop 363 Dues
While we are not asking you to commit to all the responsibilities within our Troop, we are asking you to become involved in some capacity in order for Troop 363 to continue as a strong/healthy Scout Led Troop.
If you cannot attend the meeting next week, please contact me.
Thank you in advance for your participation and commitment to YOUR Scout's Troop. See you next week.
