Please know that our committee discussed, made a motion and voted "yes" to participate in a fundraising opportunity at the Cinch Shoot Out - Roping Fiesta in October. This is a great opportunity for our boys to (1) earn scout account money and (2) earn service hours in one weekend.
Here are the details:
When: Saturday, October 26th and Sunday, October 27th at 6:00 p.m.
Where: First Community Credit Union Spur Outdoor Arena
What: (1) Pick up trash on the ground, in the bleachers, under the bleachers, in box seats, and dispose into trash cans located throughout the outdoor arena. (2) Pick up and separate aluminum
cans for resale value as additional proceeds to our boys/troop fund.
Please Note: We do NOT need to haul trash out of large trash cans and into trash dumpsters. We have been hired to pick up trash and put into trash cans only. Trash liners and rubber gloves WILL be provided to us. Lastly, it would be helpful for us to bring plastic rakes to help "rake" up trash from under bleachers into a pile so boys and pick up and dispose of properly.
Will Sherman has agreed to head up this fundraising opportunity. The committee suggested that we divide work nights into patrols (two patrols on Sat. and two patrols on Sunday). Please mark your calendars. We will need additional adult leaders to help supervise Scouts.
