Troop 363,
Below is the confirmation email I received from Philmont for our 2023 Trek. I apologize for the short notice on the first payment. Life is, as always, pretty hectic and I’m running a bit behind.
We are are to take a total of 12 people on this trip. We currently have the following individuals signed up for sure, I know I am likely missing a few names and we need a total of 8 confirmed by the 15th:
Adults:
Chris Fisher
Will Sherman
Peter Armendariz
John Griffin
Scouts:
Curtis Fisher
Skylar Sherman
Nick Meyer
Please let me know who else is interested and we can discuss further during the Scout meeting this Tuesday. I will try to send out additional information as I receive it.
Thank you,
Chris Fisher
I am pleased to inform you that your group has been given a tentative 12-Day 2023 Philmont Reservation. Please note there are several important items that will require your attention to confirm this reservation.
- The 12-Day Reservation fee is $1,490.00/person with payment schedule as follows:
- Deposit of $150.00/person due 7/15/2022
- Advance of $670.00/person due 10/1/2022
- Balance of $670.00/person due 3/1/2023
- All payments must be made online via eCheck or by mailing a check payable to Philmont Scout Ranch, 17 Deer Run Rd, Cimarron, NM 87714. Credit/debit cards are not accepted.
- All payments must be accompanied by a Philmont invoice.
- To avoid financial risk, please be sure to collect fees in advance from participants.
- Keep in mind that 8 participants are required for a minimum crew. We strongly urge that you be conservative to avoid forfeiting fees. You can add participants up to a maximum of 12 in a crew (includes youth and adults) through 3/1/2023.
- A crew requires a minimum of 2 adults, 21 years of age or older, with a strong recommendation for 3 adults and 4 being the maximum with a majority being youths.
- Youth need to be 14 years old OR 13 years old and completed 8th grade by 2023-06-10.
- Philmont strictly enforces the height/weight requirements for youth and adults to benefit the health and safety of participants. Click here to view the Philmont Risk Advisory/Height & Weight Requirements.
- Philmont requires two participants in each crew be certified in Wilderness First Aid and two participants be certified in CPR - any two participants (youths or adults)
- Philmont has the Waite Phillips Scholarship fund to assist one youth participant per crew who would not otherwise be able to experience a Philmont trek. Instructions and an application will be emailed to each Reservation Contact in October 2022.
If your plans have changed and your group decides to cancel, please click here to log in and click 'cancel' or reply to this email with your cancelation reason. In the event your group cancels, you may not transfer this reservation to another unit.
Thank you for your efforts to provide a Philmont High Adventure experience for your unit and for your service to Scouting. We look forward to working with you to Deliver a Wilderness Adventure That Lasts a Lifetime!
Sincerely,
Steve Nelson
