Scouts & Parents – PLEASE READ EVERYTHING!!!  Parents, please print and give to your scouts.
We had a great Court of Honor on Tuesday, thanks to all who came; congratulations to all who were awarded!!

First, please see the note below from Stacy McGuire from the Council Office.  San Angelo Gives is happening this Tuesday, May 3rd.  If you are able to give, this is the absolute best time to do it.  Every gift will be matched!!  Whatever size gift is great.  Do what you can.  I appreciate all that you do, keep up the good work, we are doing a good work!!

Starting Tuesday May 3rd, we will start meeting out at Baden Powel Park.  Same times as usual.
This week we will have the PLC (Patrol Leaders Council) at 6:00, followed by the regular meeting at 7:00.  Anytime we meet at Baden Powell, Class B uniforms are good to wear.

Camp Fawcett Campout – there is a signup out there.  We have a short turn around.  Please signup quickly so we can plan well.  May 13 – 15.

Summer Camp: June 19 – 25. This will be on us before we know.  They handle merit badges weird, so we will not pay for the merit badges until we get there.  We will know generally the costs and will communicate them later.  Each scout will just need to take the money with them (I’m assuming, it could change).  All that said, we need everyone to pay for the camp fees.  It is $370 plus gas, you can pay now or later for gas.  For planning purposes, we will plan for $20 per scout for gas.  Lets try and get this all paid within the next two weeks.
We don’t have to worry about swim tests, there are no aquatics.
We do need to get physicals.  We have two doc’s lined up, it will have to be done indoors.  Do we want to do it on a Saturday morning or on a Tuesday night.  Please let me know your preference by this         Tuesday.      Everyone will have to do forms A, B, and C . . . including Adults.  Adults have to get their own physicals.

July Camp is July 22 – 25th.  We are going to Dr Ihde’s place at Port O’Connor, down on the Texas coast.

Subject: San Angelo Gives

Hi Jeff,

Texas Southwest Council will be participating in San Angelo Gives where Eagle Scouts, Scouting Alumni, Scouts, Scouting Leaders, community leaders, board members, staff and friends will come together to support the Texas Southwest Council. Last year, over $80,000 was raised to support the programs of the Texas Southwest Council and the mission of the Boy Scouts of America.

This year, four donors of the Texas Southwest Council will be matching all gifts up to a total of $43,000 on San Angelo Gives May 3. Please mark your calendar and plan to make your gift to Scouting. Gifts support the 500 plus Scouts and 200 plus leaders with weekly program for the entire year. These funds help keep the cost of Scouting low and help maintain and conduct camps at Camp Sol Mayer, Camp Fawcett, and Baden Powell Park. If you were ever impacted, we need your support to help grow the Scouting program. Please help the Texas Southwest Council on May 3, 2022.

You can also help by sharing on your Facebook page and by going to the online site and create your own fundraiser mini-page to support Texas Southwest Council.
