Parents – Below there is a description of Leadership training for Scouts and for Adults.
It would be great for all of our new leaders to make this training; unfortunately, the training is the weekend after our Garner Campout.  Bad timing on the events.  Please talk to your scout, if they are willing, they may need to skip the Garner trip and hit the ILST event, very hard to do both.  We will work out transportation depending on the interest.

Hello Scouting Family!

The Outdoor Training Adventure that was set the first weekend in May has been rescheduled to the weekend of May 21-23, 2021.

This event will be held at Camp Fawcett and will feature the following trainings for both older youth and Unit Leaders.  Cost is $30 per person.

Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops (ILST)

The purpose of the ILST course is to teach Scouts with leadership positions about their new roles and to equip them with the organizational and leadership skills to fulfill their responsibilities. Completion of ILST is a prerequisite for Scouts to participate in National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT).

Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS)

This hands-on course provides adult leaders the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in the out-of-doors. Upon completion, leaders should feel comfortable teaching Scouts the basic skills required to obtain the First Class rank. Along with Scoutmaster Specifics this course is required of all direct contact leaders registered in Scouts BSA Troops in order to be considered “trained”.

Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO)

This course is designed as an introduction to the Cub Scout outdoor program for leaders interested in adding a camping component to their Pack activities. BALOO training consists of an online pre-requisite component in addition to the overnight hands on practical. BSA’s Cub Scout level camping policies will be taught along with the discovery of the necessary tools to help units carry out a successful camping experience.  Completion of this course is mandatory for a MINIMUM OF ONE adult on a Pack overnighter.

Please contact Andy Brooks at andy.brooks@PROTECTED for registration information.

Hope to see you there!
