Summer Campers -
We are  coming close to the departure time for Summer Camp.

Note there are two forms that have already been sent to parents, I have included here also.  These two forms must be filled out to go to camp.  It would be good to bring the forms to our meeting this Tuesday the 9th.

We will be meeting at Baden Powell Park again on the 9th – 7:00 pm.  We will be canoeing and swimming, come prepared.

We can do swim tests for anyone who missed last week’s swim test.

Here is the plan for departure on Sunday the 14th:
Meet at Southland Baptist Church at 7:00 am.
There is an equipment list attached to this note also, but here are the high points.
Cots are highly recommended.
All your personal gear.  Bring a bag chair.
Everyone should have a list of your merit badges.  It’s a good idea to print off the Worksheets per merit badge, put into a binder, bring with you.
IF there are “prerequisites” you can do prior to camp, do them.
Must bring some hand sanitizer.
Need something to carry water in.
Always carry a bandana in your pack or pocket, never know when you will need it.
If your merit badges require a kit from the Camp Store, be prepared to purchase when we get there.

Bring a day pack with drinks, snacks, and a lunch.  We will be stopping along the way to eat lunch – the lunch you bring; we will not be purchasing a fast food lunch.
If you have room in your day pack, stick your bathing suit and towel in; just in case they make us do swim tests when we get there.  It has happened before.

We should arrive between 2 and 3:00 that afternoon.

Departure on June 19th – Friday.
The drivers will need to be at the camp around 12 noon.  Hopefully, the troop will be ready to leave between 1:00 and 2:00.
They will only stop for potty breaks coming home, no meals.  Scouts will need to purchase snacks and drinks at camp for the trip home.

PLEASE – make sure all scouts are healthy before gathering Sunday morning!  They will do a health screening for Covid when we get there.

We will travel in Class A uniforms.  Scouts will do all their classes in Class B shirts, or nice, simple t shirts later in the week.
Every scout will have the opportunity to sleep in a tent by themselves.  If scouts want tent buddies, let me know Tuesday, so we can plan for accommodations.

Any questions, call me; or ask on Tuesday night.
Here is the final list:

The following two forms need to be filled out for camp.  I will be there tonight if anyone has them and wants to turn them in.

Attached is a recommended list of things to bring to camp.

If you can bring your $20.00 dollars for gas I will collect that also.
