San
Angelo Gives is tomorrow, May 7th! Give big,
develop Scouting fun, and....join us for
dinner.
All
Scouting Volunteers, Board Members, Alumni, and
our Friends of Scouting: Tomorrow,
May 7 will the 5th year of San Angelo Gives.
Last year, the Texas Southwest Council, Boy Scouts
of America was recipient of over
$28,000 for the support of the
camps, facilities, and programs of the nearly
1,200 Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA Members, Venturers,
and Exploring Post participants. This year,
we're are aiming for at least $35,000 for programs
and camps for youth. With recent decreases
in United Way funding, the investments received
will go toward offering high quality events for
Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA youth, the youth leaders
in their programs and the adult volunteers giving
leadership and guidance to them. The
Leadership and outdoor programs of Scouting are
what the youth of today needs to be the leaders of
tomorrow. Come drink coffee
during coffee hour with the Scout
Executive, Devin Koehler at 8:30 until 9:30 or
anytime during the day to get an update on
Scouting in the Texas Southwest Council.
Your gift will be
matched $1 for $1 from 10am - 5pm
up to the maximum of $10,000 by an
anonymous donor so help us achieve our
goal! All gifts will also be
amplified by the San Angelo Area Foundation.
Thank you to the San Angelo Area
Foundation. Every donor who makes a gift of $50 or
more may pick up a free bag of
popcorn as a thank you for your gift to
Scouting. Stop by anytime during the day to
claim your popcorn. Donations can be made
online at https://www.sanangelogives.org/scouting.
Between 6 pm and 8 pm, we
will have a Fish Fry to enjoy and
watch the total donations continue to grow. During
dinner, try out the new BB Gun
Range. Compete in the BB
Gun Tournament by taking 10 shots and the
highest target score gets a prize. Starts at
6 pm and ends at 8 pm. You do not need to be
present to win. Your
investment in Scouting is serving more
and more youth in the 24 county area and impacting
the Day Camps, Weekend Camps, Taste of Adventure,
Winter Camp and the many weekly programs and
facilities of the Council. Just recently,
the new Horizontal Climbing Wall
was completed at Camp Sol Mayer and will be fun
for all youth and adults. Please make your
investment at https://www.sanangelogives.org/scouting.
Thank
you and Scouting is fun for
all! |
