South Llano Trip, April 26 – 28.
Lots going on . . . good planning is the key to success!!!
Equipment Reminder – For the new scouts coming to San Angelo state park,
here is what you will need:
Sleeping bag - the bag you buy should work for Winter Camp and Summer
Camp – 20 to 30 degree bag. Any bag will work when it is warm, but if you
are going to buy a good one, make it work for Winter also!
Mess Kit – this can simply be a bowl that they can eat anything out of;
Spork, or spoon, knife, fork set. Go by Happy Trails and talk to
them.
Ground pad – keep the scouts off rocks and the cold ground.
Nalgene bottle – large mouth bottle (easy to carry and clean).
Head lamp – flashlight will work.
At some point, a rain poncho.
Please, make sure we talk before you go out and spend any big money on
gear!
See you soon. J Helton
